In a new research paper, scholars Danielle Keats Citron and Ari Ezra Waldman explore the development of the field of trust and safety. They write: “There has also been an industry-led effort to articulate best practices … companies came together and adopted many similar policies as they looked inward and outward for direction on how to build safer digital environments.”
