Since early 2026, the Digital Trust & Safety Partnership (DTSP) Out-of-court Dispute Settlement (ODS) Working Group has been in discussions with the ODS Network (ODSN), representing the 11 currently certified ODS Bodies, regarding the development of best practices.
To support an ODS review, platforms require sufficient information to locate the relevant content moderation decisions. The DTSP ODS Working Group and the ODSN have established a shared view of best practice regarding the target set of information for ODS bodies and provide to platforms.
The table describes 24 points of information with the following parameters:
- Line reference number
- Information type: whether the data is about the complainant, an uploader, the case details, or other additional information
- Applicable complaint type(s): the type of complaint for which the data should be requested: Leave Up, Content Removal, Demonetisation, Feature Limit
- Information to be provided by ODS body to platform: description of the data to be obtained from complainants and provided to platforms
- Requirement: whether the provision of this information is considered mandatory or recommended.
Although it does not provide a definitive list of information to be shared in every dispute, this establishes an important benchmark by which ODS bodies can expect online platforms to be able to validate a dispute and respond with accurate information.
